CONTROL AND PROTECTION TERMINALS

INGETEAM T&D's control and protection terminals (TCPs) are local units which carry out control, protection, measurement and local automation functions on any type of electrical bay.

One of TCPs significant advantages is its capacity to operate autonomously. This enables it to carry out its basic functions independently of the status of other TCPs or the UCS.
TCP functions

  • Programmable automation functions.
  • Communicating with the UCS.
  • Protection of the electrical bay.
  • Measurements.
  • Alarms and events generation.
  • Real time clock.

Programmable automation functions

The TCP, by means of its basic software which can be easily set up by the user, can carry out local automatic sequences and logic schemes such as transformer voltage regulation, local interlocking, load-schedding schemes and so on.

Communicating with the UCS
The TCP executes the commands received from the UCS and sends information about the status of the electrical bay, at UCS´s request.

Protection of the electrical bay
The TCP can incorporate multifunction protection modules, which are chosen according to the protection requirements of each bay.

Measurements
The TCP can measure the electrical magnitudes of the bay, reporting them to the UCS upon request.

Alarms and events generation
Any collected event and alarm is time and date tagged and then stored in a queue, ready to be transmitted to the UCS upon request.

Real time clock
It is synchronised by the UCS, which can be synchronised via GPS, SCADA or other means. The clock allows the date and time tagging of any change detected by the TCP in the bay.
